Wednesday day 3 of weather theme

We started out our day with cereal,
cinnamon toast, milk and bananas.

I bought the kids some small Christmas cookie cutters
to use with the play dough.
They love to cut so we had to throw in some
pink plastic knives also.

During circle time we have continued
our study of weather related things.
We talked again about
precipitation and condensation.
These are big words to say much less
learning what they mean.
We talked about what the
weather is like today.  They decided
it was hot and sunny and
not time to make a SNOW man.
 We marked it on our
weather chart.
The kids are still learning the
days of the week and months of the year.
Have them sing you the songs.
On the way home from school today ask
them what day of the week it is.
We read two books this morning.

We talked about the parts of the
book, author and illustrator.
For lunch we had hot dogs.  That was Abby's choice.
We also had mac and cheese, peas and milk.
For snack we are going to have strawberry yogurt
and animal cookies.

We are off now for a movie and rest time.
We are going to be learning
"The Water Cycle Song"
(tune of "she will be coming around the mountain")

Oh the water runs in a cycle yes it does
Oh the water runs in a cycle yes it does
It goes up as evaporation
Forms a cloud as condensation
and comes down as precipitation
yes it does.

Listen to this song

Learning about weather

We played outside today.  The kids had fun in the sand.

Ethan is having fun.  In pictures below he just got in the box.

Ethan ate some sand and made a yucky face.
I  guess he didn't like it.

Clouds and Painting

Thanks Kalel for sharing two of your books with us.
"Why does it thunder and lightning?
"What is a Rainbow?"
I think your friends enjoyed them

The kids played with the new prince and princess puzzle.
We did allot of painting.  We used paint stamps.

We painted with brushes.

We also painted with roller paints.

Today we started getting the deck ready to be cleaned and painted.

Bubbles, Bubbles, Bubbles

Play dough is always fun!
Circle Time

It's Monday

Good morning everyone.  It was a great weekend.  I went to Springfield with a friend and was able to pick up a few gifts for the reading program prizes.  I hope you and your children are enjoying the reading time.  Don't forget to write down the names of the books you read together.

Friday night I bought us a calendar and a weather chart.  These are two of the things we will be doing in circle time.  This week and next, we will be learning about weather and the letters c & u.  We will also add in colors and numbers.  While I was at School Squared purchasing the charts I picked up a Melissa and Doug wooden puzzle.  The kids love them.  This one is a prince and princess. The pieces are magnetic and like paper dolls in a way.  They are fun at that is what matters.

Labor day weekend is coming up soon.  We will be closed Monday September 5th.  Just a reminder. We will be closed October 13th and 14th.  I will be taking a much needed vacation.  As a gift from my daughter Melissa, she is going to take over for me at nap time - 5:30 on the 12th so we can get out of town before the traffic.  She knows the kids and the routine.  Her contact number is 479-644-6168.  You can still contact me with any questions at that time.
